Every year a myriad of new and better products are developed that support "green" construction without sacrificing design and quality issues. Listed below are just a few of the many environmentally responsible material options currently offered at Boden Store Fixtures.
Recycled Plastic Lumber
 Made from recycled milk containers, the plastic lumber that we utilize provides strength and durability to any project where traditional wood slats might be specified. Plastic lumber is not subject to decay and rot like traditional lumber, and costs less to maintain over time. It is available in variety of colors and dimensions. One of our catalog products is a comfortable seating bench made from cedar and black plastic slats. Made from over 800 recycled milk cartons, each bench is a visible reminder to your customers of your commitment to the environment.
Certified Wood
Certified wood is harvested from a forest that is strictly regulated to uphold stringent environmental practices. For a forest to become certified, an application is reviewed by a team of experts in forestry, ecology, wildlife biology and community economics. If the review is favorable, the forest can apply for certification from a company such as Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), an internationally recognized third-party certifier of environmental claims. After the initial approval process, SCS ensures that certified forests maintain their  environmental practices on an ongoing basis. By making a commitment to sound environmental policies and strict inventory control systems, Boden Store Fixtures is proud to be one of a handful of store fixture companies with a "chain-of-custody" certification from SCS. From wood veneers to substrates and even solid lumber, certified wood products cover a vast range of products to satisfy almost any wood related building need.
Bio-composites
Bio-composites are decorative surface materials that can be used in a variety of applications. The high durability and granite-like appearance of bio-composites makes them an excellent choice for countertop surfaces. One particular brand that we have used in the past is produced using recycled newsprint and an agricultural soy-based resin. This product is typically available in sheet form in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" thickness.
